What is the TEL3Dialer App for iPhone?

The TEL3Dialer App is a free application that allows TEL3 users to place international calls directly from their iPhone. Once you install the application on your iPhone, you will not need to dial any Access Numbers or PINs anymore to be able to use TEL3’s service. Just dial your destination number as you normally do or choose a contact from your address book, and dial directly!

How does the TEL3Dialer App work?

All calls made with the TEL3Dialer app will be connected via TEL3’s platform so you can save.

Here’s how it works:

  • Step 1: Choose to dial a number from the keypad, contacts, or speed dial
  • Step 2: Click on Green button
  • Step 3: Listen to the prompt while we connect your call by our platform

Important Notes

  • Please make sure you have registered your iPhone number with TEL3. Learn more on how to register your phone here.
  • Please make sure you dial all your international calls (except for Canada) starting with “011″ or “+” followed by the country code (e.g. 011 (44) 305 556 7879) before making a call. The iPhone currently uses a rather slow dialing mechanism after the initial connection and this might cause problems in a few of your calls. This is a general issue with the iPhone’s dialing application and might be fixed in a future update. During the call and afterwards in the “Recent Calls” list the iPhone application will show the TEL3 access number used (800# or local access number) followed by the contact’s number instead of the contact’s name.

Why does the TEL3Dialer app not work properly although I downloaded it from the App Store?

  1. Make sure you have registered your iPhone with your TEL3 Account. You can do that easily by adding your iPhone number as an Instant Access Number on your TEL3 back office. If you don’t already have a TEL3 account, don’t worry; signing up is easy, instant and actually rewarding!
  2. Secondly, please make sure the number you dial starts with a “+” or “011″ followed by the destination number.

What are TEL3’s rates from the iPhone?

For your international calls with the TEL3Dialer app, you will only use your regular domestic airtime with your wireless provider while your TEL3 account will be debited per minute based on your plan.

The main benefit is that you will be charged Local Access rates. That means we waive the 1¢ add-on charge for all calls with TEL3Dialer to any country although the call may be connected with a toll-free access number! Simplicity meets economics! View all our rates.

What if I place a regular domestic call from the TEL3Dialer app, will I be charged by TEL3?

Yes, any calls made with the TEL3Dialer app will go through the TEL3 system and you will be charged accordingly.

How can I register my iPhone number with TEL3?

You can easily register your iPhone number by adding it as an Instant Access Number under the Account Settings Section in your TEL3 Online Account Manager or call 1-800-482-4459 and one of our representatives will help you register your phone.

Accessing your online account manager is simple; all you need is a username and password. You can get your username by confirming your account number and PIN.

If you don’t own an account, you will need to sign up with TEL3 first.

Why can’t I redial a number automatically from the app?

The TEL3Dialer app dials the number for you and once you enter the number and press “Call with TEL3″, the iPhone dialer takes over and the TEL3Dialer app is essentially turned off as the call is now connected. Once the call is complete the iPhone dialer will close as it is supposed to, not allowing an opportunity to redial a number. All apps for Apple work in the same way.

Dialing numbers with a “#” or “*” is not possible – the phone application will reject such numbers for security reasons – until this is changed, there is no way to automatically dial numbers if either of those keys are required to complete the call.

Warning: Please make sure to dial with the “CALL WITH TEL3″ button on the TEL3Dialer app if you want to make a call via your TEL3 account!

How do you know if the call goes thru TEL3?

Once you place the call thru the TEL3Dialer app, you will hear a TEL3 prompt (“Thank you for using TEL3″). This prompt is a signal to you that the call is now completing thru the TEL3 service.

How do you use Speed Dial numbers?

  • Step 1: Open TEL3Dialer and touch “Settings”
  • Step 2: Enter your account number. Your account number is usually your phone number.
  • Step 3: Enter your PIN. If you don’t know your PIN, please contact customer service at 1-800-482-4459

  • Step 4: Touch the speed dial icon on the bottom bar
  • Step 5: Touch the “sync” icon
  • Step 6: Confirm action

How do you change the access number in case of an issue?

  1. Open the TEL3Dialer app and go to the settings page
  2. Touch the “Type” option
  3. Select “Primary” or “Backup Access numbers”
